Theresa WarrellParticipantHi – we are currently berthed in a reasonably priced Marina in the Bay of Biscay but due to BREXIT and the VAT implications of RGR we intend to return to UK in the summer of 2021. We are retired and have no particular area that we call “Home” in UK so we are looking for a reasonably priced Marina that allows liveaboard berthing somewhere West of Weymouth and no further North than Largs in Scotland. We are not keen on going further East of Weymouth (having cruised in that area for over 7 years) and would like to explore the SW/W and West coast of Scotland for the next couple of years.
Question: Can anyone recommend somewhere that I can call and check availability and prices?
Many thanks21st October 2020 at 6:54 pm #72569Anonymous

ParticipantHi,
Have you tried Weymouth Harbour Marina, ( Boatfolk, ex Dean Reddyhoff which is twice as expensive ! ), they have empty berths dependant upon oal.
It is pontoon berths, with toilet facilities ashore, but no liftout repair facilities. For the latter a trip to Portland Boatfolk or the Sailing Academy id required.Good luck with the search.

Theresa WarrellParticipantWe were in Portland until recently who have some space. The outer pontoon / fuel pontoon isn’t very sheltered and I wouldn’t want to leave a boat unsupervised as it’s pretty rough.
We’re currently in Plymouth Yacht Haven, was pretty full when we got in. They may have space or somewhere nearby, certainly all well sheltered around Plymouth.
By now I’d guess you’ve found Dean & Readihoff’s winter offers, if not take a look good deal if you can find one with space. At a stretch away from SW, Burnham on crouch and the Medway marinas usually have space.
