The Boat of Laughter and Forgetting, a 1989 NC 33, has a hard dinghy on davits at the stern. Getting on and off the dink requires a climb over the stern rail and down the ladder. This is not possible while carrying a 50 lb bulldog. My intention is to put a gate in the stern rail and to install a swim platform.
The canoe stern presents a bit of a challenge. An internet search yields a few photos but I would be interested in hearing from members who have installed or have such an appendage, particularly details on sizing, means of attachment, and experience in general.
I am also thinking that it might be possible to attach a stern thruster of sorts to the underside, but this is secondary to facilitating shore duty.

You may have already seen the swim platforms fitted to Sonatina and Cwtch (NC331), currently listed for sale on the NA site. Both boats are based in the Eastern Med, so these may have been local additions. The canoe stern does not seem to be an impediment.
